Gulf Yachting Association (GYA) Past Commodore, Tom Batty

 

Tom is an active member of Mobile Yacht Club (MYC) and Buccaneer Yacht Club (BYC), and has served as commodore for both clubs. He and his wife, Janice, enjoy sailing on their 36' C&C named "Tom Cat". Tom and Janice have one son, Richard, and are proud grandparents to one grandchild.

Commodore, Steve Lange

 

Steve has been an active member of MYC since 2000 and has served on the Board of Governors since 2002. Born and raised in Mobile, Steve has continually been a part of the Mobile Bay sailing community for over 27 years. He is certified by US Sailing as a Principal Race Officer and presently owns a 30' Pearson Flyer named "Kato". Ruby, his wife of 29 years is also an active sailor and member of the Bay Gales where she serves as their Treasurer. Steve and his wife have 3 children Eric, Heather and Marc.

Vice Commodore, Bernard Moseby

 

Bernard has been a member since 1986 and has served on the board since 2004. He owns a San Juan 26, "Black Magic Super Sloop". Gwendolyn, his wife of 36-years, is active in Bay Gales and his three children, Nicole, Bernard II and Gisele, can be seen roaming the Club. Bernard is an Economist/Operations Research Analyst for the Mobile District Corps of Engineers.

Vince has been club member since 2003 and a board member for three years. He owns a Catalina 30, "Miss Print", named for his wife of 30 years, Kit, who now runs her family's printing business. He has three sons, Sidney, Joseph and Jonathan. When not sailing, Vince is the Business Manager of Baldwin County Mental Health Center, Inc. a corporation providing a full range of behavioral health services to Baldwin County residents.

Bill has been a member over 40 years. He was elected to the Board in the late 70's and has served continuously since. Bill grew up sailing Fishboats and Flying Scots in GYA competition and crewing in star boats when the fleet was active on the bay. He is married to Betsy, has two grown sons, Chip & John, and is a lifelong resident on Dog River.

Recording Secretary, Brad Broadus

 

Brad has been a member of MYC since 1998 and is currently serving his third consecutive term as Recording Secretary. Brad is single and is the proud owner of an Ericson 36, "Moxie". Brad is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer, currently employed as Department Chair of the Process & Instrumentation Program at Bishop State.
